I haven't had too many opportunities to add to the blog lately - make that in the last six months. Between shooting, editing, and posting, I haven't had a lot of extra time. But as I reflect on my first season shooting sports, I can safely say I have learned a more than I could ever imagine.
The athletes are amazing. They are truly the stars. Regardless of age or skill level, each athlete has pushed themselves. I've seen smiles, pain, and a whole lot of effort. I strive to tell the athletes story through my images.
I've also learned a lot about editing. I give credit to Jake Olson Studios for that. I am inspired by his style of artsy editing and have began perfecting my own techniques. Over time, I will be adding images to the Special Edits section of my gallery. With baseball and softball season being the most recent, I have done several edits with some of those athletes. I have more selected from throughout the season, and as time allows, will add them to the Special Edit gallery. If you are interested in having a photo edited in one of the styles in the gallery, contact me. I'm happy to make it happen.
I've also started producing photobooks for clients. You pick the images and I'll make the book, much like a yearbook. I can do one sport - or more. And since I don't travel, I'm willing to add a clients photos of their athlete into the book. I don't send it to publishing until the client has approved the final product. Shoot me an email, call me, or send a message. I'll make it happen.
Enjoy the summer! Fall sports start soon enough!
